Family is the center of my life. Much of what I do supports the life we share at home, or gives me something worthwhile to work on in the quieter hours.
I work as a software engineer and have spent much of my adult life building for the web. I like understanding how systems fit together, simplifying what has become complicated, and writing down what I learn along the way.
That habit became Methodical Function, where I write about software, local AI, open standards, development tools, and the practical details behind building things. I do not write because I have everything figured out. Usually I am following a question, testing an idea, and sharing what I found.
This site is a little different. It is my personal corner of the web—a place for notes, reading, projects, experiments, and whatever has my attention right now.
My interests often move between software and the physical world: field computing, overlanding, camping, hardware, science, and the open web. The dogs are usually nearby, and the 4Runner often carries us toward the next place we want to explore.
Not everything here will fit together neatly, and it does not need to. This is simply a record of what I am learning, making, reading, thinking about, and goofing around with as life moves along.
We are energy... experiencing frequency... projected into form.
