Walking a Fine Line
In Apple Sends Legal Letters to Dozens of OpenAI Employees, Slashdot reports that Apple has sent legal letters to dozens of former employees now working at OpenAI.

This highlights an interesting balancing act.
If Apple believes its intellectual property was misused, it has every reason to protect it. At the same time, Apple and OpenAI continue to work together through ChatGPT's integration with Apple Intelligence. That means both companies have to balance defending their own interests while preserving a business relationship that benefits their customers.
Technology companies don't always have the luxury of treating one another as simply friends or foes. Sometimes they're both at the same time, and that can make for some complicated decisions.
