We preserve spacecraft, spacesuits, photographs, and mission recordings, but the software deserves to be preserved too. It represents an enormous engineering achievement while still containing the names, comments, compromises, and personality of the people who wrote it.

This may be one of the coolest pieces of software history available on GitHub. It turns the Apollo 11 mission from something we read about into something engineers can explore line by line.
